It’s hard to believe Easter is less than a week away! This is always one of my favorites holidays because it’s filled with so much tradition, family and hope. Every year for as long as I can remember, we’ve gone to church as a family and then had an elaborate brunch. While I’ve never hosted my own Easter brunch, I have a feeling when I do it will look something like this! There’s nothing I love more than a tablescape filled with bright colors, unexpected details and lots of sweets!

Easter Tea Party Menu

My friend Erica with Wink by Erica made this gorgeous ombre speckled cake inspired by the ceramic pieces by Suite One Studio and the more tradition robins egg blue speckled cake floating around Pinterest this time of year. She also made an assortment of egg macarons, the gold splatter paint ones are my personal favorite!

For the colorful deviled eggs I followed this recipe but instead of using beets as dye I used regular liquid food coloring. I didn’t want the whole egg to be colored, just the rim and this recipe was super helpful. Once the deviled eggs were done, I topped each one with an edible flower because why not?!

Decorations for an Easter Tea Party

When I set the table and bar cart how I originally planned, it seemed like it was missing something. I decided to clip the leftover floral stems and add them to the backdrop with gold foil washi tape. I love how this addition really tied everything together and added a statement without spending an arm and a leg! If you decide to recreate at home, use removable washi tape so it won’t mess up your wall.

In the end, I love how everything came together and the mix of pastels with pops of yellow really gives it a modern twist. And of course, Michelle of Michelle Able Photography/Cotton Lifestyles knocked it out of the park with the photos! Take a look through all the details and I’d love to hear what you think!

Fun Activities To Do During An Easter Tea Party

Egg Hop Relay Race

The Easter Bunny is on his way to town! Get ready for some fast-paced fun with this game. Start by dividing everyone into pairs, and give them two large egg cutouts made from cardboard or heavy cardstock (or whatever you have). The first teammate stands atop one of these eggs while their partner places down another set in front of him/her – so they can hop back & forth between both sets until they reach the finish line.

Match the Eggs

You’ll never guess what skills are needed to win this game! Young players will have their sensory abilities tested as they attempt to match up objects in pairs. For example, fill one egg with jelly beans and another with coins – whoever gets more correct matches wins a prize!.

Capture the Egg

Who gets to be the last man standing? Competitive, rival teams of one. For this fun game you’ll need eight eggs and four each in two different colors for your team! Line up all 8 on opposite sides as an end zone with no more than 3 people per side (1 starter). The first person who captures their opponent’s egg becomes victorious – but only if they can hold onto it long enough before someone else takes theirs or reaches their base line without getting tagged by another player from either group.

Easter Party Tips & Recommendations:

• Setting the larger desserts and drinks on the bar cart next to the table allows guests to serve and refill as needed. Taking some of the work out of hosting!
• Keep the food within the same color scheme so it doubles as decor on the table and bar cart!
• If you don’t want to set the table, you could stack smaller plates on the bar cart to create a self serve buffet, making it less formal.
• If you love the look of tea cups but aren’t planning to serve hot tea, pile pretty Easter candies in the cups for an unexpected detail!
