Last week I partnered with Nekter Juice Bar to host a handful of local bloggers and creatives for brunch on our screened porch. We’ve had friends over for dinner and playdates with kiddos out there but this was the first brunch outside since we updated it and by far my favorite occasion to host! Normally outdoor events during September would still be a no go but luckily we had a few rain storms cool it off the couple days leading up to the party. Plus the beauty of a screened porch, no mosquitoes!
I know fall is right around the corner but I can’t resist a colorful palette. I purchased the fruit honeycombs to add to the boxwood wall I made awhile back. This time around I placed the wall on upside-down planters to add some height. I got the idea from a friend and it’s so genius!
I decided to forego a traditional seated brunch and keep everything casual. We have two swing seats and a round table in the middle of the porch but my goal was to have people walk around, mingle and try all the yummy goodies Nekter provided!
My sweet friend Nancy is a super talented watercolor artist and I asked her to create signage for the smoothies, bowls and ice cream. Can you handle how cute the smoothie bowl on the cart is?! I love the personalized touch they add!
Trent made this rolling cooler look like an ice cream cart after I saw the tutorial on Aww Sam’s blog. He cut off two of the legs and added the larger wheels then I painted stripes to an IKEA umbrella and used the hot glue gun to add fringe around the base. I might seem a little extreme for a party but I know I will get a ton of use out of it!
The Nekter team brought some of their best sellers as well as a couple seasonal items. We served acai, pitaya and pumpkin bowls, cold brew protein smoothies and vegan charcoal ice cream. Everything was delicious but my personal favorites were the cold brew smoothie and acai bowl.
Nekter Juice Bar has locations around the country and I highly recommend checking it out if you love bowls and smoothies like me!
