When Piper was a couple months old she had terrible tummy issues. No matter what Trent and I did she cried so much throughout the day. She hated the carseat, the stroller, the crib, the swing and unfortunately also my breastmilk. It was a rough time for us all. As I new mom I remember feeling so out of control.
During this time I vividly remember picking up Piper’s prescription at Walgreens. Because of all the crying we were trying reflux medicine to start eliminating what was making her so upset. It was definitely a right place at the right time type of moment. I’m pretty sure I looked like a total sleep deprived mess and the pharmacist could see if on my face. She asked how I was doing and instead of my normal “I’m great, thanks” I decided to tell her the truth. I opened up about my issues and luckily she was a mom and understood where I was coming from. She gave me a few tips from one mom to another and it was so refreshing! She wasn’t trying to hurry me along, she really took the time to listen. In this moment, she was exactly what I needed! I was able to go back to Piper and all the crying with a huge weight lifted!
We didn’t have much luck with the reflux medicine and unfortunately the crying continued but regardless of how upset she was, as soon as we put her in the bath she was totally calm. She would kick her little legs and have a huge smile on her face the whole time she was in the water! It was and still is her favorite part of the day. She’s outgrown some of the tummy issues but her skin is still incredibly sensitive. Since Trent is also a redhead, I knew Piper might have some sensitivities to food and any products she came in contact with. We have to be really careful about what products we use during bath time. I saw someone post about JOHNSON’S® Cotton Touch 2 and 1 Wash on social media and knew I needed to give it a try. I headed to my neighborhood Walgreens and decided to try the new JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion and Baby Shampoo while I was there. I’m so glad I did! The trio has become a staple in our nightly bath time routine.
Cotton Touch 2 in 1 Wash allows bath time to be fun for her and I don’t have to worry about her skin. Total mom win! It’s specifically designed for tender newborn skin and creates the perfect amount of bubbles, leaves her skin so soft without all the bad stuff. The one handed pump comes in handy now that she’s so active. Bath time with this little wiggle worm is basically a work out (and trip to the splash pad!!) in one. I have to keep my hands and eyes on her constantly since she’s constantly climbing around so the one handed pump is a game changer!
After bath time we continue our bedtime routine by lathering on JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion to keep her sensitive skin moisturized then we snuggle while reading a book. I’m so grateful for the new JOHNSON’S® Baby products, they’re 100% gentle, and free of parabens, and phthalates. Regardless of how busy life gets I have full confidence Piper is able to enjoy her favorite time of the day with the most gentle products.
