I’m so excited to feature my favorite duo on Instagram today! It’s impossible not to smile when you look through their feed, their style is so inspiring and colorful! I started following Jenna and Cortney a couple years ago and love how their fun personalities come through in everything they do. Plus I’m pretty sure if I lived in LA we’d be friends IRL! Keep reading to see how they spread positivity through act of kindness, big or small!

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS? 

As silly as it may sound, throwing someone a smile (especially here in L.A.) and a quick compliment can go a long way. We try to make it a goal to encourage the people we encounter, rather it be telling a barista we like her hair, letting someone know how cute we think their dog is, or that pink lip the girl walking down the street is just 100% on point. It usually gets a smile from people, and you never know how far a little positivity will go into turning someone’s day around. We’re also all about the element of surprise. One of our favorite things to do is surprise friends and/or co-workers by showing up with their favorite treat/drink in hand. 🙂

FAVORITE PICK ME UP WHEN YOU’RE IN A RUT?

A rom-com and some good old fashioned girl talk. Basic? Maybe. Effective? 100%.

FAVORITE GUILTY PLEASURE?

Cort: Cheesy teen tv is a total guilty pleasure for me. Gossip Girl, The Hills, Teen Mom—all the things that the 15 year olds also love. *shrugs* 

Jenna: I love Celine Dion. No shame. 

TELL US ABOUT A KIND ACT SOMEONE DID FOR YOU RECENTLY? BIG OR SMALL!

We tell this story a lot, but it’s one that warms our hearts so much. This past summer we went on a trip to Paris with some of our gal pals and while we were there, had plans to meet up with one of our insta-turned-real-life friends who lives in Luxembourg, Anna (@annaroslily). Little did we know how far away Luxembourg really is, but Anna was more than happy to take the train all the way to Paris to meet us. AND, to our surprise, she had also planned out a whole fun day for us and brought us each personalized gift baskets! It was just so insanely sweet and thoughtful. 🙂

IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU USE YOUR BUSINESS TO SPREAD KINDNESS?

COLOR. For those that follow us, or know us in real life, or have just seen us walking down the street. We love to dress in bright colors. Again, this might sound silly, but it makes people smile. We can’t tell you how many conversations people have started with us that began with them asking about our outfits. It’s a small thing, but it brings us and those around us joy. 

WHO INSPIRES YOU MOST AND WHY?

We’ve been lucky to be able to surround ourselves with some of the most inspirational and encouraging people in the world. Whether they be friends from each of our hometowns in Tennessee and Oklahoma, or friends from here in Los Angeles, we are lucky to know people who are fiercely loyal, passionate, and always ready to share positivity with the world. A lot of our color and work inspiration comes from our girls Cynthia (@hotpinkpineapples) and Leslie (@splendid_rags), but the world (and the city of Los Angeles) is always bringing us new sources of inspiration everyday. One of the things we love most about blogging- we get to share that inspiration with everyone!
