Helping you celebrate every day colorfully. My mission? To make party-throwing a piece of cake!

When we remodeled our home last summer and we changed almost every room in the house besides the living room. I really wanted to knock down the wall between the dining and living room but the project was going to price us out of the neighborhood so we decided not move forward for the sake of budget and resale value. Once the kitchen, bathrooms and master were new and shiny, the living room felt like such an eye sore. But I was 6 months pregnant and we had other more pressing things to work on i.e. the nursery so I tried to somewhat refresh the space on a budget. We switched out the fan, rug and pillows to hold me over until we were ready to overhaul the space.
Fast forward to last month, when I started thinking about the holidays and hosting Piper’s first birthday party here. I started to panic about hosting everyone and knew it time to create a space I was proud of! We purchased a gray sectional and media console to hide Piper’s toys but I wasn’t sure how to design the rest of the room. It’s a weird layout with a door or opening on every wall. After trying to rearrange the furniture myself several times, I decided to outsource the design to the pros, Havenly. If you’re not familiar, eBay has partnered with Havenly, a home décor service that lets you work 1:1 with a professional designer to remotely design your living space and then makes recommendations of the items to purchase on eBay.
After I signed up, I filled out the in-depth style survey answering questions about how we use the room, my style and inspiration photos from around the web. The whole process really helped me hone in on what I was looking for. I knew wanted to maximize the space but also allow the room to be open and inviting. I obviously love color but wanted the room to be tasteful and more refined. Once the survey was completed they matched me with a dozen designers that fit my style. I was able to look at their past projects and pick the one who resonated with me the most. I chose Adrian because she likes to mix boho with traditional pieces plus some of her past room designs are swoon-worthy!
Adrian developed three concepts based on the existing pieces we wanted to keep and the style survey responses. The photos speak for themselves..it’s such a huge transformation! I love how much to lighter rug color opens up the space compared to the navy and turquoise rug we previously had in the room. She brought in the pops of color with the pillows – the blush pillows are my favorite but the accent chair is a close second. I don’t think I would have thought about adding in a chair but the color perfectly compliments the grey sectional. I’m so glad we were able to finish the space before we host family and friends during the holiday season!
Now that the living room is finished, I’m going to use Havenly to help find art for our breakfast nook. The best part? From now through December 11, eBay customers will get a special discount, with pricing starting at just $49. This includes three concepts, a final plan and links to the products found on eBay. Take a look through the before photos, the concept and finished product and let me know what you think of the new space!
Thank you eBay for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
