A couple of weeks ago my sister and I took Piper and my niece, Emma to JW Marriott San Antonio for their Light Up the Night holiday kick-off event. Trent, Piper and I went last year but Piper was too young to understand what was going on. This year on the other hand, she was all about it! The resort is huge and full of amazing amenities like a gorgeous spa, beautiful golf course, multiple restaurants with something on the menu for everyone. Then you add a full day of Christmas magic on top of all that, and it becomes the closest thing to a winter wonderland in Texas I’ve ever experienced!
During the Light Up the Light event, there were more than 250,000 twinkling lights synchronized to holiday music. It was such an amazing sight to see and Piper danced non stop to the music show. It was the cutest thing ever!
During the festivities, it seriously felt like we were living inside a snowglobe. Snow was falling, festive music playing, tree lighting, live reindeer, a children’s train parade and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the JW Elves. Plus a full itinerary of Christmas activities throughout the afternoon and evening. We decorated cookies, roasted s’mores, wrote letters to Santa, and made slime (my niece’s favorite)!
We were there during the big tree lighting ceremony but they have holiday events all month long. The light show plays every night between 6 pm – 10 pm and is open to the public. Plus, breakfast with Santa, having Elves tuck in the kiddos at night and so much more! It had quickly become the place to get our family in the holiday spirit and we plan to attend for years to come.
We are so grateful to JW Marriott San Antonio & Culver Public Relations for the hospitality two years in a row. The memories we’ve made on the property will last a lifetime!
