At Cake & Confetti we believe holiday entertaining doesn’t need to be super stressful. Between your growing shopping list and your social calendar, hosting a holiday gathering might seem like a daunting task. We’ve teamed up with the super talented Michelle Able Photography to bring you a two part blog series on holiday hostess style and tips for effortless entertaining. Whether you’re hosting Christmas Eve dinner for the first time or having a holiday party we hope to inspire you to create an unforgettable evening for you and your guests.
As a hostess your outfit should be festive but also comfortable so you can move around easily. Have fun with it since it is your party after all but if you request a certain dress code, we recommend sticking to it. When you’re hosting a party you spend a lot of time on your feet, so breaking in those new stilettos the night of your party isn’t the best idea. The three outfits we’re showing today are perfect for any stylish hostess!
Winter white is a trend we hope stays around forever! We paired this chic off white dress with simple red suede pumps to create a classic holiday look. Just add a statement bracelet a little red lip and you’re ready for any holiday party!
Off-White Dress: J.Crew | Red Pumps: Nine West | Bracelet: Kate Spade (sold out similar here)
Sequins are always a staple during the holidays and when we saw this gold midi skirt we fell in love! Since the skirt speaks for itself, we paired it with a more traditonal yet festive plaid button down.
Plaid Flannel Shirt: Old Navy | Sequin Midi Skirt: Mindy Mae’s Market | Necklace: J.Crew Factory | Black Pumps: Pour la Victoire
If you’re going to buy one thing this holiday season, it should be these red pants from J.Crew! They are seriously amazing. Think track pant comfort but wool pant texture with a stretchy waistband. Who doesn’t appreciate a forgiving waistband during the holidays!? We’ve paired our new favorite pants with a festive cashmere sweater and leopard pumps.
Red Cropped Pants: J.Crew | Cheers! Sweater: J.Crew Factory | Leopard Pumps: Steve Madden | Necklace: J.Crew Factory
Later this week we’re going to share a few entertaining tips to wow your guests without spending the whole night in the kitchen.
