Helping you celebrate every day colorfully. My mission? To make party-throwing a piece of cake!

Oh man, to say I’m behind on my posts is an understatement! I said I was going to start sharing these every other Friday and somehow a month has passed since my last one. Whoops! I need to start adding a two week extension to all my projects. #motherhood haha! Anyways, I’m so excited to have Amanda from Fashionable Hostess on the blog today! I’ve followed her for a few years now and absolutely love everything she does. She has amazing taste and her house is serious goals! If you love light and airy spaces, entertaining inspiration and goreous recipes I promise you’ll love her too!
WHAT DO YOU ALWAYS KEEP ON HAND THAT IS QUICK TO SERVE?
Cheese, crackers, olives, grapes, and a garnish like rosemary or thyme… my party essential is a fabulous cheese platter, so I always have the essentials around so I can whip one up on the fly!
As I said, I am a cheese platter gal , so definitely one of those! To make my cheese platters unique, I like to keep a good stock of healthy and exotic crackers in my pantry as well; they definitely add a little something to the display.
If I have enough time to run to the grocery I buy a round brie and crescent roll crust to bake or shrimp cocktail to serve.
Then for drinks, I have a small wine fridge which I stock with some of my favorite wines and champagnes – I always have one very fancy bottle of champagne chilling (because you never know when someone will show up with exciting news!) and then a few bottles of something seasonal. Right now with the warmer temps I am serving light wines like Sauvignon Blanc and Rose.
In that case I would prepare a sit down dinner with a fancy table and a healthy menu. There’s nothing better than a long and lavish dinner at home with endless drinks and laughs.
For my table I am loving rich tones this spring and have been having fun making floral arrangements of my own in an array of delicate flowers with a variety of colors. Example here.
For my menu: I would serve a Kale + Chickpea Salad to start, then a salmon with maple lemon glaze for dinner and a side of my famous Quinoa Kale Cakes as a side dish.
Martha Stewart! She is the ultimate hostess, so I would love to sit down with her and ask her how she “does it all”, where her endless inspiration comes from, and how she grew her business to such an empire.
I will say I am on a role with my moscow mules and they are definitely my favorite cocktail this summer.
My initial inspiration came from my grandmother… she was the ultimate hostess who never left out one detail when it came to her dinner parties. She had the most gorgeous collection of linens and dishes… whether she was serving a weekly Sunday dinner for family or hosting a Holiday dinner, her table always looked beautiful and elegant.
Modern day inspiration comes from fellow bloggers/ influencers… Monika Hibbs, Camille Styles, Pizzazerie, and Aerin Lauder.
