Easy and Tasty Cinco De Mayo Cocktails For 2022

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite “holidays” because of the bright colors and fun festivities, and the drinks make it even better! I have three go to Mexican cocktails that I love making for a group or just for Trent and me- the Paloma, the Jalapeno Margarita and the Minialmist Margartia.
What Exactly Does Cinco De Mayo Celebrate?
The first cinco de mayo was celebrated in Puebla, Mexico and it commemorates the Mexican victory over France at the Battle of Puebla which occurred on May 5th.
Today, this event is celebrated as a day to commemorate Mexican heritage and pride as well as its rich history and culture. It has become synonymous amongst many Americans to be a day of drinking alcohol, especially tequila. Many festivities are held to celebrate this event with parades, concerts, marathons and parties.

3 Tequila Cocktails To Celebrate Cinco De Mayo
THE PALOMA
This is one of my very favorites- it’s simple yet flavorful. I found this easy recipe and now it’s one of my go-to’s when my friends come over!

Ingredients To Make The Paloma
- 1 ½ cups silver tequila
- 4 ½ cups grapefruit soda
- juice of 6 limes + lime wedges to garnish
How to make it
Combine tequila, grapefruit soda, and lime juice in a pitcher and stir. Pour over ice-filled glasses and garnish each with a wedge of lime.
JALAPENO MARGARITA
This is such a great drink if you like a little bit of a kick. Made with fresh jalapenos, it’s spicy yet still refreshing.

Ingredients To Make Jalapeno Margarita
- 1/2 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 large green jalapeno pepper, sliced thin
- 4 ounces silver tequila
- 2 lime wedges for garnish
How to make it
In the bottom of a pitcher, muddle the jalapeno slices with the lime juice. Add the tequila and stir. Add salt to the rim of each glass and fill with the margarita mix. Garnish with a lime and enjoy!
MINIMALIST MARGARITA
A minimalist margarita is just as it sounds- minimal. This is Trent’s favorite and makes me squirm a little with each sip.

Ingredients To Make Minimalist Margarita
- 4 oz of tequila
- 1/2 cup of fresh-squeezed lime juice
- splash of agave orange liquor
- lime wedges for garnish
How to make it
Add tequila and lime juice into a salted rimmed glass then add a splash of agave. Serve with a lime garnish.

Fresh Salsa Recipe with Tomatoes
During Cinco De Mayo celebrations, it is a common practice to serve Mexican dishes with refreshing drinks. In fact, for this holiday, many people love to eat spicy and tangy dishes that perfectly match with cocktails or other alcoholic beverages.
Shrimp Ceviche
With cinco de mayo cocktails, you can serve the Mexican shrimp ceviche. You should cut out all the unhealthy ingredients in your life if you want to keep your body healthy. The dish is made with freshly caught shrimps mixed with cucumber and onion, lemon juice, red chili pepper flakes, salt and cilantro leaves.
