The Round Top Antique Fair was last week and I was so excited to go this year in collaboration with Hotel Ella for their Ella Goes to Round Top event series. Since Round Top is halfway between Houston and Austin, we skipped the shuttle portion of the trip and met everyone there. But any of my friends in Austin or North Texas, I highly recommend taking the shuttle and making a day of it!

My mom and I shopped around at a couple of the fairs then stopped at Marburger Farms for a couple hours before we made our way over to Rancho Pillow for more shopping and an amazing dinner. The whole property reminded me of one of my favorite places, Marfa because of the eclectic decor and teepees everywhere. Now I’m itching for a trip back to West, Texas! The owner of Ranch Pillow, Sheila built the retreat on her family’s land and is just now opening up for the others to enjoy. I could totally see heading here for a relaxing girls weekend away from the city.

For dinner there was a super long farm style table setup to seat a hundred guests. Our friends at Cherry Pie Hospitality served an amazing family style meal, the blue cheese stuffed Sriracha chicken wings, avocado deviled eggs, corned corn, red velvet cheesecake and Lee’s Creamery bourbon ice cream were some of my favorites but everything was delicious. The owner, Sheila asked us to put our phones away, be present and enjoy the community around us so I did just that. I might not have photos of the food to share but I did really enjoy the company around us and making new friends. It’s amazing what can happen when 100 people at a dinner table put their phones away! After dinner my mom and I headed to Austin to stay at South Congress Hotel thanks to my friends at New Waterloo.

If you love to attend Round Top as much as I do, I highly recommend making a little staycation out of it and mark your calendars March 27-April 1st for the Ella Goes to Round Top festivities this spring!
