Helping you celebrate every day colorfully. My mission? To make party-throwing a piece of cake!

I came home from Mexico with a bag full of yarn pom poms and tassels. Even though I know how to make them, I always love the color combinations I can get my hands on down there! Our trips to Punta Mita started my love for Otomi patterns a few years ago which inspired Piper’s nursery and my baby shower theme. It’s safe to say when I find something I like, I really stick with it!
I came across these pom pom espadrille slides on Instagram and fell in love. As much as I dislike Instagram ads at times, they sure know how to target me! I wanted to pull the trigger but the $100 price tag stopped me. I showed them to Trent and he was like “you can make those!”
I went with a more simple design but the beauty of these is you can do whatever you want! You can buy poms and tassels on Etsy, I’ve linked some options below. Piper already had white espadrilles from Old Navy so I decided to make some for her to match. I swear I’m going to match her until she’s old enough to tell me not to. 🙂
YOU’LL NEED:
Baby espadrilles – her exact ones are now sold out but I found pink ones and these white ones. You can just cut off the bow because you’re covering it with the poms 🙂
Hot glue gun
Tassels (optional)
It’s a little silly to do a DIY of these because you pretty much just glue the poms on the shoes haha. My original plan was to sew them on but I tested the glue on Piper’s and let her tug on them for awhile and they didn’t budge so I figured we were good to go! If you do decide to add tassels, you’ll need to sew them in place. The poms have enough surface area for the glue but the tassels would need reinforcing.
