It’s crazy to think how fast summer is flying by, is anyone else wondering how it’s almost September?! Summer might be coming to an end for some parts of the country but we have two months of hot summer temps ahead of us in Houston! This means there’s still plenty of weekends spent floating around in the pool. I’ve been meaning to share more photos of the poolside shoot in collaboration with Manor and with Labor Day next weekend, what better time than now?! Plus a lot of the summer goodies on their site are on sale, so you might as well stock up now, it’s a win-win!

For this shoot I used a couple different striped shower curtains (yes, shower curtains!) from HomeGoods as the backdrops. You can totally do without these but I love the poolside cabana vibe it adds. Plus I’m a huge believer in pattern mixing when you’re entertaining outdoors, just make sure the patterns compliment each other.

For the drinks, I kept it simple with champagne chilling in an ice bucket and Deep Eddy’s Lemon vodka mixed with La Croix – my favorite poolside cocktail! To create picture worthy beverages, I always add a garnish, stir stick, cute straw and place it on a napkin or fun coaster.

I wanted to create a playful sign but have AWFUL handwriting so I printed out a phrase in a fun font and traced it onto a simple acrylic frame with a paint pen. It was a super easy calligraphy hack that adds a little something to the set up.
