Helping you celebrate every day colorfully. My mission? To make party-throwing a piece of cake!

Earlier this summer I traveled west to Marfa, Texas for a floral design workshop with the extremely talented Bows & Arrows team. Even though I’m not a florist, my love for pretty flowers began at a very young age. I remember playing on a co-ed softball team when I was nine and completely scared of boys. To avoid embarrassing myself in front of the boys on my team, I spent more time in the outfield picking flowers than I did actually playing the game. Needless to say my softball career was extremely short lived but my infatuation with flowers continued. Over the course of a few days in Marfa, I learned so much about floral design and photo shoot styling. I left extremely inspired to incorporate more floral design into the events Cake & Confetti creates. Here is a glimpse at the trip shot by Ryan Ray.
The first lesson was floral crowns and herb boutonnieres. This is the model wearing the crown made by yours truly.
All of our fragrant boutonnieres clustered together. I love the use of the baby raspberries.
The model holding my free flowing bouquet tied with Frou Frou Chic.
She’s wearing a show stopper from The Dress Theory.
I’m still swooning over the poppies in my centerpiece. The huge peony is easy on the eyes also.
I loved seeing all of our centerpieces come together for our styled shoot.
My favorite shot from the trip. The herd of buffalo weren’t exactly happy about the angelic model coming towards them.
If you ever get the itch to explore Marfa, I highly recommend it. It was so dreamy and the perfect backdrop for our floral adventure. I’m already trying to find a reason to go back.
