Thank you to Master of Mixes for partnering with me on this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I found these adorable mini Santa mugs a couple of weeks ago and I knew if I didn’t buy them, I’d regret it! I know hot chocolate bars are popular at parties this time of year, so I decided to put my own spin on it with a boozy hot chocolate tasting!
I decided to create two hot chocolate cocktails as well as a nonalcoholic option. I love coconut and chocolate together as well as espresso and chocolate, so I went with those flavor combinations. I used Master of Mixes Piña Colada Mixer and Master of Mixes Espresso Mixer to easily bring the tasting party together!
I set out a pitcher of hot chocolate plus a couple of shakers with the hot chocolate boozy mixture so you can try a couple of versions of spiked hot chocolate plus regular hot chocolate with fun toppings! I always love tasting parties because I can try new combinations I might not have tried otherwise.
Add in festive garnishes like red and white sprinkles, marshmallows, whipped cream, and crushed candy canes so guests can get creative with their tasting!
For the hot chocolate, I used my favorite store-bought mix, but you’re welcome to make it from scratch if you prefer! Once the hot chocolate is done, you’ll fill one pitcher for the nonalcoholic version and then separate the rest into glasses or cocktail shakers.
Hot chocolate is a winter favorite, but it can be made even more delicious by adding a little liquor. Here are some of the best liquors to put in hot chocolate:
For every cup of hot chocolate, you’ll add ½ cup of Piña Colada Mixer and ½ cup of vodka or rum. Stir or shake well before serving.
For every cup of hot chocolate, you’ll add ½ cup of Espresso Mixer and ½ cup of vodka. Stir or shake well before serving.
I found some similar mini mugs online if you want to recreate a hot chocolate party at home.
