If you saw my announcement on Sunday, you know we’re having a BABY! This has been such an exciting week sharing the news with all of you and receiving so many sweet messages back. This was definitely the toughest secret to keep and the reason I went a little MIA on Insta Stories for the last month or so. I knew if I slipped up and shared about how tired I was or that I didn’t feel well it would be a red flag and we wanted to wait until our most recent appointment to share the BIG news!
We opted for the genetic testing at 12 weeks and knew we wanted to find out the gender. I have a lot of friends who are pregnant or recently had a baby and waited until the baby was born to find out but knowing my personality I think I would drive myself (and Trent!) crazy for the next 6 months! Our close friends and family had their predictions – Trent thought it was a girl all along but honestly I had no clue. I knew I’d be so happy with either, I just want all the results to come back normal. We’re over the moon to share we’re expecting a healthy baby girl!
We took these donut announcement photos a few weeks ago and I’ve been dying to share! We had a unique situation because my best friend, Ailee was going to be in Colorado for 5 weeks so we took photos before she left mid May. I asked River Oaks Donuts to make letter donuts spelling out two phrases I frequently say, ‘oh boy!’ and ‘hey girl hey’ to cover all our bases. I love how they turned out!
Trent refused to talk baby names before we knew the gender so let the researching begin! If you have an recommendations, we’re all ears! This is such an exciting adventure we’re on as first time parents and I can’t wait to take y’all along with me. Bring on the colorful baby clothes!
The gold letters are actually sparklers that spell out BABY but it didn’t quiet work out as planned! I had multiple lighters but unfortunately it was way too hard to light all of them at the same time. The A was already out by the time the Y went up in flames. I’ve used these sparklers before but only with one letter or number – I highly recommend keeping it simple if you use them for a party!
